Overview:
The 3rd SS Panzer Division (Totenkopf) was attacking to clear Russian forces blocking the Vali sector up on the Stuhlweibenburg-Budapest road. As part of this attack, Hauptmann Dr. Konig’s Schwere Panzer Abteilung 509 was attached to the division with the mission to drive south and seize the bridges over the Sarvis canal in Szabadbattyan. They were well ahead of the division and had to go into the attack without infantry support. As the Tigers approached the town, they were met with fire from several Stalin tanks. Soon they were blazing away at each other, locked in a slugging match in the streets of Szabadbattyan. . .Attacker: German (Company 2, Schwere Panzer Abteilung 509)
Defender: Russian (Elements 49th Guards Heavy Tank Regt, 6th Guards Tank Army)

2021-12-09 | (D) Jason Nichols | vs | Doug Bleyaert | Russian win | Illuminating Rounds PBEM tournament. The Tigers entered along the North edge and approached aggressively. Two out of three smoke attempts were successful. The Russians held their fire until DFPh and then scored three turret hits in a row, destroying two of the three tanks. The +2 size modifier makes the King Tiger a lot easier to hit. Hits on the turret or side/rear are needed to have a chance of destroying them. The German KT's found it more difficult to score hits. One IS-2m was destroyed when I got a bit adventurous and tried to flank two KT's. Another was shocked but recovered in the following RPh and was able to destroy another KT with yet another turret hit. Two other KT's were destroyed by flank shots and another was destroyed in CC after the DC attack made by a squad and 9-1 leader failed. DC's were set on two bridges and the Russians moved the two squads that possessed the PF's to cover the approaches to the two most southerly bridges. In the end they weren't required as Doug conceded at the end of the Soviet Turn 2 with 6 of the 8 King Tigers destroyed for only 1 IS. I felt this game was very dicey. There are limited tactical options for the German player and he has to risk the first shot and hope to survive into the AFPh to engage the IS-2's. The dice gods were with the Soviets in this game.

2020-11-07 | (A) Dave Mareske | vs | Dennis Dowd | German win | The Germans snuck on the board and the Russians had to turn to fire with either missing or hitting in the hull which was ineffective. The Tigers knocked out three tanks in the advance fire phase with some good shots, getting turret hits on hull-down tanks. Called the game early after the Russians failed to blow one of the bridges. A good intro scenario to big tanks and vehicle movement.
2014-10-04 | (A) Martí Cabré | vs | Germán Fernández | German win | I moved the Tigers fast on the fourth bridge and lost one crossing the center road. Then Germán moved all his tanks to cover the farthest bridge and then I split my force in two trying to force two bridges, while the first bridge blew up. In the center 4 Tigers and 2 IS were destroyed and the second bridge was blown, and only my platoon on the right had still force to cross the canal. Then, after the third bridge was blown, the IS covering my right malf'd its cannon and I pushed with 3 Tigers on the other side of the canal. The Russians counterattacked with two IS but I wrecked them and managed to immobilize the last one... with a surviving crew from one of the Tigers! With only a scatter of infantry left (and no Russian PF left), Germán conceded.
