Overview:

Hungary's Mobil Corps had been subordinated to Heeresgruppe Süd and then further parceled out to various German units. Three light tank platoons commanded by Captain Tibor Kárpáthy were detailed to Infanterie-Regiment 228. Kárpáthy was an experienced tank commander, having been decorated for his actions in Yugoslavia. Meeting with the German regimental commander, he was ordered to advance through the small villages of Minkovtsy and Antonovka to capture Height 306, south of the village of Filianivka. The Germans would accompany them, including a bicycle company and some anti-tank guns.

2023-12-06(D) Paolo Cariolato vs Federico Corso Russian winThe initial russian choice of leaders is a waste of time. Take the 3 leader (one heroic), absorb the 18 points with DM, broken, pin and first fire, russian units near the Victory Building. you have plenty of time to rally everyone before the tin cans can make contact. Give the ATR to the heroic leader and put him with the MMG on a high position.
Pur some unit as a speed bump but don't be too greedy, pur them where they can fall back and be rallied. Covered by the AT Gun, and the ATR. The German need to cover a lot of ground, if you have enough bodies you can put a wall of bodies in front of the Victory Building and deny the german even a shot to victory.
With proper russian defence it's impossible to win as German.
Cannot blame enough the pointless pre-game leaders' choice.

2023-09-29(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German/Hungarian winSuper fun scenario. Axis attack went straight along the north board edge. The Russians would knock out 4 tanks and immobilize a 5th tank, which was then abandoned. The Germans continued on with a single tank, which VBM freezed the Russians with the MMG and then the V8 Victory Hex. In the Turn 5 close combat the Germans had 3-1 odds, but Dan rolled snakes, killed a squad and created a 7-0 and took the Melee to Turn 6 final. The Germans would then roll snakes for the game winner. Extremely fun game.
