2023-12-10 | (D) Rob MacGinley | vs | Ian Willey | | British / Canadian win | Unable to land any godo breaks or survive any MCs so he just cut thru me like butter
I would have enjoyed it more I think as nice village defence where the whole road has to be cleared so the Candians have lots of work to do |
2022-04-16 | (A) Simon Staniforth | vs | | | British / Canadian win | An enjoyable game, the British have plenty of Infantry units and pushed hard into the village led by the 9-2 and 6-4-8s. A flanking force of 3 squads with the 8-1 and a couple of the Sherman’s headed up to B43 in anticipation of the endgame. The Germans tried to hold the village for perhaps a turn too long and 3 squads including both 5-4-8s were Encircled / broken and forced to surrender in a decisive turn. The respective AFVs didn’t engage until towards the end with the Brits decisively winning that encounter with a KO of one StuG and Recall of the other on an IF shot for no losses of their own. With their AFV cover gone the remaining German infantry was mopped up in T6. |
2022-04-02 | (D) Andy Bagley | vs | Erik Grande | | British / Canadian win | Another very enjoyable playing of this excellent scenario, even though I was on the losing side this time. German strategy is all about a skilful fighting withdrawal, and although I got the timing about right, I lost a few too many units in the process.
Mixed fortunes on the dice: good shooting with StuGs and PFs accounted for all three Shermans, but on the other hand my guys just couldn't pass a MC. As the action closed in on the Board 59 chapel and graveyard I still had a small chance, but two MC failures with 8-morale units and a failed s9 Smoke attempt sealed my fate. Great fun though, against a very good opponent. |

2021-10-15 | (A) Andy Bagley | vs | Mike Grogan | | British / Canadian win | A close game, which went down to the last CC Phase (although the Germans needed a fluke to win at that point). As I expected, the Germans fell back to a defensive perimeter based on the chapel and walled perimeter towards the north-west of the map. In doing so however they took losses, whereas the British/Canadian forces remained largely intact including all three tanks. I tried as far as possible to surround the Germans, with one tank going round the far north of the board whilst other forces pushed up the east edge. Around turn 4 the Germans made a comeback, with good shooting breaking many British/Canadian squads, leaving me short of manpower. This didn't last however: the two StuG's fell swiftly once my tanks closed, and once the last German points of resistance became encircled the writing was on the wall. An interesting and enjoyable scenario though. |
2020-07-23 | (A) Pascal Boileau | vs | Boudrenghien | | German win | A very good scenario. With the British troops entering from the W and the E, I tried to encircle the German position in order to force a German retreat and hoping to disorganize the defense. François displayed impressive defensive skills and my plan didn't work at all... Anyway, it was a disputed game with a very nice opponent. |
2020-05-16 | (A) Raffaele Ianni | vs | Andrea Manzoli | | German win
2020-05-15 | (D) manzoli andrea | vs | Raffaele Di Ianni | | German win | Difficult for British to reach the control zone without lossing..
Really good scenario |
2020-03-20 | (D) nathan wegener | vs | Wes Vaughn | | British / Canadian win | I misplaced one baby stug and lost it to a sneaky shot. Lost the other stug after malf gun in T2. Fell back in good order but with no armor I was toast |
2019-06-30 | (A) C. Scott Kippen | vs | L. Binchois | | German win
2017-11-11 | (D) Jeff B | vs | Jason Burnette | | German win | This one was quite boring as the defender. It felt like a bad PTO scenario, with the front line breaking and falling back, to be replaced by fresh concealed units. It also felt a bit gamey lining the street with Germans at the end. |
2017-05-20 | (A) Michael Rodgers | vs | Brad Hunter | | German win | Both Brad Hunter and I wanted to attack with the British. I received them and Brad received the balance of a MMG upgraded to a HMG. My infantry attacked up the middle and Brtish left. I made a mistake with the three Shermans by sending them up the left, hoping to somehow get at the German AFV. Instead, one went down to a PF and I was luck a second did not. Plus, my infantry could have used their help in the town. Brad’s Germans fell back, not always in G.O., but enough stayed G.O. that I could not capitalize. When it became obvious that I no longer had time to accomplish the VC, I conceded. |
2016-06-13 | (A) Will Willow | vs | Roy Connelly | | British / Canadian win | TT |
2016-03-13 | (A) nathan wegener | vs | James Treu | | British / Canadian win | Assault started off superbly and pushed the Germans back quickly. Encircling and killing 5 squads in front area. Had trouble with MCs mid game which kept it close but Brits were too much. |
2015-11-13 | (A) X von Marwitz | vs | Ray Woloszyn | | German win | In this scenario, the British supported by Sherman tanks with lots of smoke-generating potential have to clear a road leading through a village and the area adjacent to it of German forces, which are supported by a pair of Italian manufactured assault-guns.
The Germans will have to fall back. In doing so they have to find the right compromise in slowing down the Britisch and avoiding to be shot up in the process to have enough units for the end game. Having played this as the Germans before, this time I had the attacking British, which are probably more fun to play and also have the edge in this battle IMHO.
However, my experienced opponent conducted a very skillful fighting withdrawal gnawing away from my available time from the start. When I thought I had bottled up a significant part of his force, a combination of a smoke round and infantry smoke allowed all of them to slip away across the road intact which I had covered from three sides. In addition to that, the dice did not really shine on me: I could not hit a stationary assault gun with four shots by the same tank. My small flanking „gully-force“ broke after a low odds shot and a sniper never to come back, freeing some Germans for other purposes. In one MPh, the subsequent attempts of one tank to fire SMOKE and no less than 7 tries for infantry smoke grenades yielded but 1 success on the last occasion. The British 9-2 did not perform well, either.
All these factors taken together never really left the issue in doubt and the opposing Germans kept the road closed for the win. |
2015-11-06 | (D) Richard Carter | vs | Bob Tufano | | German win | We played with the printed balance for the Germans though not sure that really made much difference. I won on a lucky SAN activation at the end of the game. Agree, it is a fall back defense. The Commonwealth AFV's are difficult to deal with though. |
2015-10-09 | (D) X von Marwitz | vs | Philipp Janssen | | German win
2015-06-16 | (D) X von Marwitz | vs | Martin Mayers | | British / Canadian win

2013-07-18 | (D) Fred Ingram | vs | Chuck Dye | | German win | A methodical fallback is required (not too quick though) |
2013-07-18 | (A) Chuck Dye | vs | Fred Ingram | | German win
2013-07-15 | (D) Davide Bendazzi | vs | Michael Rodgers | | German win
2013-06-16 | (D) fabrizio da pra | vs | Miguel Guerrero | | Draw | Its a nice scenario but my opponent played so slow that after 5 hours we were only on turn 3.
I played it in a tournament so we had to stop but my line was holding.

2013-06-16 | (D) Davide Bendazzi | vs | Daniel Takai | | British / Canadian win
2013-06-13 | (A) fabrizio da pra | vs | Enrico Catanzaro | | German win | Good defence setup and play by Enrico and wrong attack by me led to an early loss. |
2013-05-19 | (D) Will Willow | vs | J.P. Raymond | | British / Canadian win | CASLO |
2013-03-22 | (A) Paul Works | vs | Jim Burris | | British / Canadian win | 2013 March Madness ASL Tournament; round one. |
2013-02-24 | (D) Paolo Cariolato | vs | Leonardo Conforti | | German win | Leo was a bit too confident in his Shermans and got all 3 roasted by 'fausts. He played a solid game but in the end was short by a turn. Nice Tournament Scenario. The german has to conduct a fighting retreat in order to win. |
2013-01-11 | (D) Paolo Cariolato | vs | Stefano Isella | | British / Canadian win
