Overview:

The men of the SS Totenkopf Division had stalled the advance of the Fifth Guards Tank Army in late September. Then, silence. No fighting had occurred for the past three weeks. It was too good, too unreal. A feeling of unease pervaded the encampment. There was almost a sigh of relief as the dull thunder of the Russian advance began again. . .

2024-05-18(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German (SS) winI've played this one often over the years and even its first iteration as a Cross of Iron scenario from one of the Generals. Word to the wise...dont play this one expecting a competitive game. It's not. It's all about the German dice. If they roll poorly, you might...I stress might manage to exit enough stuff to win...but with a 9-2 interdicting the ground and the 2 x 88LL's covering every approach...you ain't going to make it. It's an unbalanced dog of a scenario. The ROAR Stats make that abundantly clear, But it's a great scenario to let a new player learn the game as the Germans and shoot the hell out of the Russians. So there's that. Otherwise...this scenario is generally a hard pass.

2021-09-07(D) Tom Rodwell vs Lee Hyde-Sellars German (SS) winA small but manageable scenario which makes it good for learning the armour rules. For the Russian attackers, however, it is quite a big ask even with the balance. The German self-propelled tank hunters set up with interlocking fields of fire and were fortunate (a turret hit on a hull down JS2) to take an early toll of the Russian attackers. This was then compounded by Lee's tankers malfing multiple guns. When a second JS2 was brewed up by the Nashorn, with a third JS2 suffering from a permanently malfunctioned MA it was game over for the Russians.
