German (SS)Russian
Overview:
The March Russian offensive to drive the Germans back to the Carpathian Mountains had been successful. Partially due to Hitler’s “stand fast” order, many large German formations were encircled. Among them was the entire First Panzer Army of General Hube. Determined not to be part of another Stalingrad debacle, Hube and Manstein planned a daring breakout. Avoiding the favorable terrain to the south, Hube drove west across forested hills. The terrain was more difficult, and hence was less likely to be the move the Russians would expect. Elements of the elite 2nd SS Panzer Corps would drive eastward to aid in the breakout with a linkup expected in the vicinity of Buchach.Attacker: German (SS) (10th SS Panzer Division "Frundsberg" and the First Panzer Army)
Defender: Russian (Advance elements of 5th Tank Corps)

2020-10-12 | (D) O Ramaille | vs | Russian win | The Russians attacked West using their T34/85 and most of their infantry and East with their T34/43. The SS were smothered and overwhelmed with each panzer destroyed one by one. Bad luck was on the SS side, with a recalled Pz IV and a SPW251/1, lots of casualty MCs and malfed MAs. The moment the convoy arrived, T34s were quietly waiting for them...
2018-06-02 | (A) Kermit Mullins | vs | Dan Best | Russian win | Dan and I enjoyed replaying this classic scenario. It was the first time for each of us playing the ASL version. We played it fast and furious and by turn 7 the Russians had eliminated the necessary number of trucks for the win. My Panther did a great job, but my three MKIV's gave very little account of themselves before being destroyed. With no armor left, the Russians were able to clean up and start a truck dealership.
