Overview:
The March Russian offensive to drive the Germans back to the Carpathian Mountains had been successful. Partially due to Hitler’s “stand fast” order, many large German formations were encircled. Among them was the entire First Panzer Army of General Hube. Determined not to be part of another Stalingrad debacle, Hube and Manstein planned a daring breakout. Avoiding the favorable terrain to the south, Hube drove west across forested hills. The terrain was more difficult, and hence was less likely to be the move the Russians would expect. Elements of the elite 2nd SS Panzer Corps would drive eastward to aid in the breakout with a linkup expected in the vicinity of Buchach.Attacker: German (SS) (10th SS Panzer Division "Frundsberg" and the First Panzer Army)

2021-01-03 | (D) Tom Kearney | vs | Walt McWilliams | Russian win | The Germans had the balance and it made a HUGE difference. The 10-2 was obviously placed in the Panther and created much havoc, destroying 6 T-34’s by himself. However, despite losing their armor the Russians killed or immobilized 7 of the convoy vehicles, eking out a Pyrric victory.

2016-08-30 | (A) Martí Cabré | vs | Nathan Stapf | German (SS) win | Nathan had a lot of bad luck during the first turn, recalling some tanks. I managed to occupy the high ground and keep his PF wielding infantry at bay. The Russian tanks dominated the convoy approaches and also had good firing zones against the German troops. The German convoy had not entered yet but his chances to pass them unscathed were quite low so he conceded.
