2023-11-14 | (D) Michael Rodgers | vs | Vic Provost | Russian win | The German accidentally attacked the strongest part of the Russian defence. It did not go well.
2023-11-02 | (A) Pascal Boileau | vs | Samuel Macari | Russian win | A very good scenario. A flawed attack from the German troops and quickly the Russian took the upper hand. I conceded just before the last turn. At least, I've learned something... Nice defense Samuel !
2023-07-09 | (A) Vic Lauterbach | vs | JM | German (SS) win | This one is tough to lose as the Germans IF you keep moving. In a game with lots of ASL craziness, I scraped out a win. Jim's setup ruled out a push along the west board edge, so I went at building S7 then swung west into the woods and big grainfield along the board boundary. I sent two squads toward the 33O5 orchard as a feint. S7 fell quickly so it became a fight for AA10 and BB8. Jim's defense was aggressive especially the KVs. It came down to CC in 44BB10 and AA10. Every melee was critical. My sniper wounded two SMC and broke two MMC while Jim's managed only a MMC break and 2 pins until it recalled a PzIII on the last turn. Jim: Variable VP are a big + for the Germans but time is on the Russians' side. A timid attacker will lose. I put the 45LLs on the east edge of my defense and they killed a Tiger before being overwhelmed. One squad and dummies in S7 didn't slow Vic down enough, and a second red chit in my turn 3 really hurt as did a PzIII killing KVs with APCR. I needed more than the one CR in CC I got but it was still v. close and tense w/ v. high replay value.
2023-04-22 | (A) Paul Works | vs | Rob Wirthlin | Russian win
2023-04-21 | (D) Craig Renier | vs | Joe Celebuski | Russian win | The Germans entered with the obvious goal of capturing the three buildings on Board 44. The attackers pushed forward aggressively with two forces, one in the center and one on the left. Poor results on morale checks hampered both sides, despite the high morale of the SS troops and Russian Guards. The Russian OBA was inaccurate, despite the pre-registered hex, resulting in only modest effect. Radio contact was subsequently lost and then when regained, a red card was drawn. OBA ended up having little impact. What did have an impact was two snake eye rolls on the IFT which eliminated 2 full German squads and two snake eye rolls on the TH eliminating an AFV and a HT with a MMC and SMC. Plus, a desperate CC Reaction Fire with street fighting eliminated another German AFV. The Germans had made significant progress through Turn 3, but the heavy losses made it clear there were not enough units remaining to wrest control of all three buildings.
2022-12-16 | (D) Dave Mareske | vs | Craig Renier | Russian win | Second game in the campaign installment facing Craig's Germans. While the Russians won the scenario it was not without cost. The Germans lost one Tiger to a 45LL when it drove through its hex and scoring a lucky rear shot. The other German 75Ls did great scoring three CHs on three KVs. However, the German advance stalled and the attack pivoted bringing the whole force against my 9-2, two 4-5-8s and an ATR. They would eventually surrender scoring some good CVPs for the Germans. This sets the stage for the Showdown and the Germans will be going first.
2022-09-22 | (D) Scott Sherer | vs | Jeff B | German (SS) win | Great description by Jeff of a fun and enjoyable game!
2022-09-02 | (A) Jeff B | vs | Scott Sherer | German (SS) win | The Germans will have to kick off their assault in high gear and never let up if they wish to stand a chance in this one. I think the exit will be most difficult, as they would have to exit more than 3/4 of their initial force even if selecting the maximum level possible. That number is still over 1/2 when factoring in the reinforcements. Considering they'd probably have to take a circuitrous route to do so, leave themselves exposed to OBA, and have to deal with four Russian tanks I just don't see that happening. So my plan was to go for the buildings fast and hard. I figured the western farm compound would be heavily defended, and rightly so as it is the best way to hedge your bets on going for either VC. So I made for the central farm, which was mostly stacked with dummies. Unfortunately for me the pre-reg OBA hex was near enough that Scott decided to go for an immediate harassing fire conversion that paid off for him nicely, breaking the majority of two full stacks of my men. But not all was bad news for me, as the sole defending Russian unit in the upper levels (who had quietly held his fire during my approach) was caught as well. He would soon be a POW. Also, a defending AT gun in the east broke on its first shot, and a nicely-placed (and unexpected) big mortar in the middle saw its crew broken with some lucky shooting. This will be a high-casualty scenario from start to finish. As my two piles of broken men regrouped themselves around the farm, the rest of my force bulled straight ahead through mostly open ground, surprisingly successfully. We had initially each blazed up a tank after the Russian reinforcements entered, but at the start of our next session realized we had forgotten the (rather silly) SSR about AFV THs being affected by dust. Considering we had each just managed hits in the first place, we voided both these shots. With a breeze already in place this drastically changed the battlefield, but was an easy (and necessary) change to implement. Going forward we had many would-be hits miss due to dust. On my half of Turn 3 I knocked out the first tank for real, this time non-blazing, while a lone Russian tank in the east with a broken MA was being ganged up on by two Panzers. My men continued to charge forward to the farm compound in the north, soon to be joined by my reinforcing HTs, but ran into the first minefields. The Russian part of Turn 3 went very well for me, knocking out two more tanks and seeing the AT gun gone for good with an X-out. I did lose my first tank. The first half of Turn 4 was bad for me, as the many minefields surrounding the farm caused me no end of grief. The final straw being when a HS was eliminated for FTR while toting POWs, who were then replaced with a conscript HS, who then caused another squad and leader of mine to be eliminated for FTR. Things went a bit better on the Russian half of the turn when I knocked out the last Russian tank. On my last turn I had to deal with a berserk Russian squad holed up in one of the VC buildings, a Russian squad and leader tied up in melee with one of my HS in the other VC building, and the encroaching Russian 9-2 and squad making their way there to reinforce. The berserker was eliminated with a lot of firepower, the melee had two DCs dropped on it, and the 9-2 and company were both KIAd. After Scott's last ditch effort to blow my southern men up with his OBA failed he threw in the towel. Certainly an action-packed game.
2022-08-14 | (D) wayne baumber | vs | Joel | Russian win
2022-08-12 | (A) Andy Bagley | vs | Mike Grogan | Russian win | I thought Mike would defend the board 44 buildings heavily, so decided to risk a 'right hook' going for the exit VCs, and selected the PzkwIII and PzkwIV option to maximise VPs for this purpose. This failed spectacularly, partly because Mike had placed plenty of defenders on board 33, and partly because one of them - the 45LL AT Gun, repeated got RoF and low TK numbers, decimating my AFVs. Even then it wasn't quite over, as I was able to put my reinforcements and a few extra troops into a late attempt to capture the board 33 buildings. This came close, and might have worked if my FT or a late CC attack had shifted his last units from 44AA10. But they didn't, so the Russians held on for the win.
2022-07-30 | (D) Dave Mareske | vs | Dave Ramsey | German (SS) win | So my defending forces had none of their anti-tank defenses work, AT gun failed to secure a hit on the side armor, the AT mines failed to go off and my reinforcing tanks became target practice for the German AFVs. Seems the dust effect got in the Russian eyes, but not in the German's. There was little to be done in the end and the infantry and vehicles rolled over the defending infantry. There has to be a better defense! Good job to Dave to push through.
2022-07-29 | (A) David Ramsey | vs | Dave Mareske | German (SS) win (VASL Log) | Nothing fancy from my Germans. Just headed straight for the two left hand buildings and grabbed the third with the half tracks. Dave M had no luck with his tanks or Gun, despite one of my tigers malfing on one of its first shots and the other immobilising itself on his first attempt to start the engines. It felt like there was little finesse - just a sledgehammer attack.
2020-10-16 | (A) Gordon Jupp | vs | Andy Bagley | German (SS) win | Dice were with me on this one, after a slow start! Both Russian ATG Malfd and I scored several critical hits with my AFV's as well as one engineer squad going fanatic, creating a hero and then generating a leader in CC ! .It was still close though as my Stuka pinned a Russian squad to prevent him skulking back into one of the multihex buildings and I was able to unload a squad into it to capture three buildings....
2020-10-16 | (D) Andy Bagley | vs | Gordon Jupp | German (SS) win | I enjoyed this scenario more than J52 - it's more balanced with opportunities for both sides, and this game was very close. But I carried forward a disadvantage from the previous scenario of this CG and this, together with a bit of bad luck on the dice, was enough to secure the win for the Germans.
2020-05-19 | (A) Tom Kearney | vs | Alan Saltzman | Russian win | Broadway to Prokhorvka.

2013-06-20 | (D) Gordon Jupp | vs | Nick Holmshaw | German (SS) win | Played as part of the mini CG - Germans managed exit on last turn, Russians earned bonus points to stay in CG.
2013-04-27 | (D) Paul Messina | vs | Hondo Nelson | Russian win | A great scenario. The HIP SSR really helps the Russian player out a great deal. If you are the German SS in this one, you cannot waste time with your offensive. You must punch through the Russian defender quickly to have a good chance of success.
2012-03-09 | (A) Paul Jones | vs | Sam Prior | Russian win | Heroes 2012. Excellent scenario with variable OB. Highly recommended.
2012-03-01 | (D) Steve Bowen | vs | AK | Russian win | Interesting scenario where German player has various ways to win. In this play the German committed 100% of his attack where the Russian defense was strongest and bogged down. This scenario best played as part of the 3 scenario Kursk mini-CG.
2012-02-20 | (D) David Ramsey | vs | Martin Barker | Russian win | German went for the buildings but the Russian held on relatively comfortably. One tiger malfed/recalled so Germans could definitely claim bad dice.
