Overview:
The Australian 7th Brigade helped hand the Japanese a defeat at Milne Bay, Papua in 1942. Almost three years later, the Brigade was in action again, this time on Bougainville. It faced a trapped Japanese garrison which had no intention of surrendering. The Brigade's 25th Battalion found out this the hard was after suffering a rebuff at the Puriata River. A relief column from the Brigade's 61st Battalion was ordered forward with support from the infantry tanks from the 2/4th Armoured Regiment.Attacker: Australian (C Company, 61st Battalion and 9 Troop, B Squadron, 2/4th Armoured Regiment)
