2023-05-18 | (D) Andy Bagley | vs | Neil Brunger | Japanese win | OK, I admit I just fancied playing this because it's such an obscure theatre of WW2. I'm told it plays rather like KW in having hordes of mediocre-grade enemy troops (in this case Japanese) attacking a few well-armed Americans. In this game my opponent entered most of his troops towards the northern end of the mapboard, and I held these pretty well. But I didn't leave myself enough to stop his reinforcements, which entered on the southern end and basically ran straight down hexrow GG. Tricky decision for the Americans as well about what to do with the dozer: do the two heroes man it and attempt to drive away under fire, or do they (as I did) leave it and gift the Japanese some VPs? Interesting scenario anyway. |
