Overview:
Now that the war against the much-despised Japanese invader had been won. Chiang Kai-Shek knew he had to defeat the communist insurgency . With the Japanese occupation forces in China on the verge of surrender, Chiang hoped to execute a political masterstroke. He ordered the Japanese, along with the Chinese warlords who had served as their lackeys, not to surrender to the Communists but to instead retain their fighting capabilities as a means of "maintaining order." In this was, Chiang hoped to weaken the local warlords and the communist insurgency simultaneously. The Communists, meanwhile, had their own plans. Aware that time was of the essence, they launched an offensive in Tianmen against the unlikely alliance of Nationalist and Japanese forces.Attacker: Communists (15th Brigade, 5th Division, New Fourth Army)
Defender: Nationalists (National Revolutionary Army and Japanese Garrison, Hubei Province)

2022-06-04 | (D) Richard Jenulis | vs | Tycho Granville | Nationalists win | Quick fun little barroom brawl that starts with a bang. My initial thoughts were that the side who moves first will have the advantage. I'm not sure that it will always be fatal. The communist moved first and I was able to survive and push his forces out of the Northwest buildings. The Nationalists did not even try for the Southeast buildings. I was able to park a tank on the bridge and another in the stream next to the bridge. The Communist took to many losses to counterattack and called it early. | ||

2022-05-09 | (A) Kermit Mullins | vs | Dan Best | Nationalists win | Well...what is there to say about this scenario. If you lose the Turn 1 initiative...prepare to meet your maker. My Communists lost four squads on Turn 1 ...KIA'd. My 9-0 rolled boxcars on his first morale check. Then both my MMG's MALF'd on their first shot. We had some interesting ups and downs that made it a little bit interesting, but it was really over after Turn 1. I personally dislike setting up adjacent and I couldn't come up with a plan that kept me from doing that very thing. So if you lose the initiative, then you will probably lose the scenario. However, I believe this scenario is perfect for a Ferocity Fest Scenario. |
