Overview:
General Heinz Guderian's XIX Panzer Corps had broken through the Polish defensive lines at Wizna and Mlawa. Next on the agenda was the fortress of Brzesc-Litewski. The fortress' garrison was a mixed bag consisting of march battalions and a number of old FT-17 tanks used for training. On 14 September, 10. Panzer-Division hit Brzesc-Litewski Blitzkrieg-style directly from the march.Attacker: German (Abteilung II, Panzer-Regiment 7, Panzer-Division 10)

2024-07-06 | (A) Jobbo Fett | vs | RootinPutin | German win | A German victory thanks to hot dice at the start and at the end. The Germans were very aggressive early on, managing to wreck 3 of the 4 Polish tanks by Turn 2, with infantry making steady gains. Some gutsy defensive moves saw half-squads planting DCs on a German tank, reducing it to ash and twisted metal. By the end of Turn 5, the Poles decided to throw in the towel, as the Germans were within spitting distance of securing their objective and all resistance was too far out of position to be able to stop the German advance. A real test of a defensive setup, and punishing for the defender when things go poorly. | ||
