Overview:
The Allie invasion of Syria was underway, and in support of the Australian 7th Division pushing north from Palestine, British commandos landed along the coast to secure crossings on the road to Beirut. Despite a night landing, the Vichy French were aware of the raid. The commandos landed and made their way inland.
