Overview:
The first Battle of Courland began just before first light on 27 October 1944 with a massive Soviet artillery barrage. Under protection of this mighty barrage, Soviet tanks and infantry brigades went to the attack. The main blow was directed against the 30th infantry Division, but soon the 4th and 14th Panzer Divisions were also under attack. By 29 October, the Russians had advanced across the Priezukrogs-Czezgaleskrogs road and were storming northwards. They were met by Oberfeldwebel Hermann Bix and his platoon of Panthers.Attacker: German (Grenadier -Regiment 108 and Panzer-Regiment 35)

2020-11-24 | (D) Scott Fischbein | vs | John Garlic | German win | I had some tough luck in the opening turn - malfing my LMG and MMG, which would have provided some firepower to slow down John's infantry crossing the open ground. Instead, he had a pretty easy time of it, and he did a great job of maneuvering his tanks, while I didn't use mine to their full potential. By turn 4 I was out of infantry, and his tanks were strongly positioned on the hill so it was only a matter of mopping up the VC hexes with his tanks, so I conceded at turn 5. John was a knowledgeable and gracious opponent and I was glad to get matched up with him for Round 3 of the Sioux City Street Fighting tournament.
2014-06-07 | (A) fabrizio da pra | vs | Chris Mazzei | Draw | Played this during the Italian tournament, I was the German and stupidly immobilized a Panther to get 1 MF to avoid getting hit in the flak by the gun. another two Pantern bogged crossing the gully and one immobilized in the bog removal check, even the one with the armor leader remained there and rebogged on the second try to get out. A nightmare. even without 3 Panthern I almost won the scenario using the infantry and PF, but we run out of time and decided on a tie.
