Overview:
The 101st Airborne was desperately low on ammunition, trapped near Bastogne. A desperate attempt to resupply the pocket was formulated. 50 Waco and Horsa gliders, towed from bases in England by C-47s, flown by volunteer pilots, attempted to re-supply them. Upon arrival at the pre-selected landing zone, they discovered U.S. and German troops dug in at either end of the frozen field, separated by only a few hundred yards. As the gliders came down between the lines, troops from both sides sprinted into the field. . .Attacker: German (15th Fallschirmjäger Regiment)
Defender: American (2nd Battalion, 327th Glider Infantry Regiment/439th Troop Carrier Group)

2018-01-07 | (A) jon smith | vs | yanks | German win | yank 50cal cleared the hill of german heavy weapon support.. but the german early push into the centre took key positions. The gliders all came down close to yank lines and were easy for the yanks to capture but they lost a lot of men on the right flank which left the way open fro a german counter attack retaking gliders and reducing the yanks to 4mmc at the end...we were not quite sure of the victor conditions... do the yanks need 18 vp from gliders only.. or do they have the cause casualties too? its says and /or so if its just capture the gliders then surely a very easy with for the yanks as its seems very easy to land gliders next to yank lines... | ||

2013-03-07 | (D) Andy Beaton | vs | Martí Cabré | German win | Interesting game, I finished with 8 of the 9 required gliders recovered and a forlorn charge over open ground to reach the 9th. I didn't make it. Well played by Martí. |
