Overview:
In the days following Operation Spring, the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division conducted several short but sharp engagements to improve their positions. One such position was the adjoining villages of St. Andre-sur-Orne and St. Martin-de-Fontenay. The Canadians held the southeast portion of St. Andre and all of St. Martin except the church on the southern outskirts. Brigadier H.A. Young wanted the church taken. He believed the objective could be taken by a company of infantry supported by engineers.Attacker: Canadian (Les Fusiliers Mount-Royal)

2025-01-24 | (D) Dave B | vs | Steve Boro | Canadian win | This was my first round at Winter Offensive against Steve Boro, a good player and a really nice guy. Things went wrong for the Germans right off the bat when Steve's first Prep Fire scored a 1MC on the top level of the cathedral where my main leader was commanding the MG, and the leader promptly rolled BOXCARS as my first roll of the game, resulting in a break and a wound. The Germans gave it their best shot, but losing that MG next and negative leadership DRM was a near fatal blow right out of the gate. Steve won on the last turn by pushing his way into the ground level of the cathedral, and wrecking my few remaining half squads.

2024-12-20 | (D) Dave B | vs | Joseph L DiCamillo | German (SS) win | This was my Dec 20 consolation game with Joe after losing Under the Noel Trees earlier in the morning. The SS generally had great results against the advancing Canadians here, both with the MG in the bird's nest and general small arms attacks. The Canadians failed to capture the church in time, giving the Germans the win.
2024-08-01 | (D) Indy Lagu | vs | Ben Kernan | German (SS) win | Ben hasn't played in over a year and wanted to give this one a go. Since he's been dormant I told him to choose a side and he chose Canadian. Sadly, he didn't get any smoke with his MTR, and my SS were too ensconced to be rooted out. In our post game debrief, we agreed that he Prep fired too much, but he didn't seem to have much of a choice. Had I looked at the Archive results when we chose this one, I would have told him to take the balance.
