Overview:
In the summer of 1941, Soviet forces were struggling to both stop the onrushing Germans and escape the encirclements that were a constant threat against their more mobile opponent. Soviet forces encircled in the Bialystock Pocket were attacking with increasing desperation in their attempts to escape.
