Overview:

The summer of '43 was turning into a constant exchange of attacks and counterattacks in Central Russia. Operation CITADEL had failed, and Operation KUTUZOV was an almost equal disaster for the Red Army. By the end of July, both sides were simultaneously licking their wounds and planning the next attack. A tired but recently refitted "Großdeutschland" would clash with a tired and worn 6th Guards Army several times near Belgorod, even as other formations from Army Group Center fled to the rear.
Attacker: Russian (6th Guards with 5th Guards Tank Army)
Defender: German (Infanterie-Division 223 with Panzer-Division 19 and Panzer-Division "Großdeutschland")

2026-06-08(D) Dave Mareske vs Dennis Dowd German winSome bad luck for the Russians losing two tanks to Recall after they tried to fix the MA. The main attack came on board 49, but the tanks separated with riders trying to outflank the Germans. The Germans lost their HMG on the first shot, but were still able to slow the Russian advance . Called the game in turn 6 just before the last Germans were set to arrive.
2026-04-12(D) Will Willow vs Randy Shurtz Russian win
2026-02-17(A) Craig Houliston vs Paul Schaeffer German win13 hrsRussian attacker has a beefy OB - and lots to do. German at-start infantry will eventually get rolled and its real objective is to stall for their reinforcements. My inability to win CCs was the game breaker. Axis reinforcements were able to contest the needed VC building in turn 6 and…again…a 2-1 CC only gained me a CR leaving it in German control. Unsurprisingly, the reinforcements overwhelmed the Russians in their turn 7 for the win. Well played by Paul! Epic game!
2026-01-22(D) Paolo Cariolato vs Federico Corso German win
2026-01-04(A) Maurizio Mai vs Fabio Mazzucchelli Russian win4 hrsInteresting scenario despite seems to favor the Russian. The German is going to be crushed and it seems the idea of the scenario is for the German to delay the Russian and do not allow a "strong repositioning" before the German reinforcements come in and attack to retake the buildings. Strong Morale for the German that sees all his set up defenders being vaporized by the Russian forces 27 MMCs vs 11 and 13 AFVs vs 3 entering on Turn 2 and 2 small guns (50L, 37L) at set up. The German conceded on the 4th Turn due to bad rolls and Soviets being already advanced, with only 1 MMC and the HMG to defend the center of the village.
