Overview:
A gap opened between Infanterie-Division 65 and the neighboring Panzer-Division 26. On the morning of 2 December, the 4th New Zealand Brigade tried to exploit this gap by heading towards Melone, optimistically convinced that they could reach Chieti in 48 hours. Tanks of of Squadron B, 18th New Zealand Armoured Regiment, together with Companies B and C, 22nd New Zealand Infantry Battalion were preceded by Bren carriers and armored cars of the divisional cavalry.Attacker: New Zealand (B Company, 22nd (Motor) Batttalion, 2nd New Zealand Division with B Squadron, 18th Armoured Regiment and Divisional Cavalry Regiment)

The Village fight plays second fiddle to the Set DC attempt. Dark and mud and too many overlays...just gum up the works. In our game, the British got armor to the T6 location and managed to break the German 3-3-8 as it attempted to place the DC in T6. The Carrier then moved into the T6 hex for the win. | ||
