Overview:
Rommel’s 7th Panzer Division had established a small bridgehead across the Somme, but the construction of a pontoon bridge was prevented by interdicting fire from the nearby town of Hangest. . . Self-propelled howitzers were brought forward to bombard the defenders, and an assault by motorcycle infantry was launched. The attackers slowly fought their way into Hangest, but the colonial infantry resisted fiercely even in the face of point-blank fire from the SP guns. . .Attacker: German (Kradschützen Bataillon 7 and sIG-Kompanie 705)
Defender: French (5ème Compagnie, 44ème Régiment d'Infanterie Coloniale)

2024-10-27 | (D) David Yllanes | vs | José Luis | French win | 4.12 hrs | Very enjoyable scenario. My opponent managed to keep his sIG functioning and placing smoke for the whole game, but took very few HE shots, while still denying important hexes. The first few turns everything seemed to be going my way, but then the tide turned and the Germans managed to cause many casualties, mostly through CC, while my MGs seemed useless. In the end, my HIP squad managed to hold two buildings by itself and gave me the win.

2023-05-09 | (A) Jack Wilson | vs | Eric Zagdan | French win | No sense commenting on my attack plan as it was an absolute failure. With only two buildings controlled with 3 turns to go, I failed my PMC and resigned.
