Overview:
The 92nd Rifle Corps, reinforced with tanks from the 1st Tank Corps, were ordered to capture Glebokie. They penetrated the lines in several places, and the successful attack forced Korps Detachment D and the 252"' Infantry Division to withdraw. The German withdrawal was not orderly and they struggled to create stable defensive positions. On 3 July, the 92nd Rifle Corps captured Glebokie. They they continued to attack, moving south along the main road. Colonel Schmidt organized a defense at a crossroads near Zuberki to prevent the enemy from continuing their advance on the main road.
