It was the ninth day of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. The Jewish Military Organization or ZZW by Hebrew acronym had planned for a retreat out of the Ghetto after the uprising. Two ZZW tunnels led outside the ghetto and were used to smuggle weapons in. During the uprising, groups of ghetto fighters had exited the ghetto via the tunnel to building Muranowska 6 and then made their way to the Michalin Forest. The first group had been successful. A second group made their way through the tunnel and hid in Muranowska 6, waiting to go to the forest. The Germans had received an anonymous tip of the presence of Jewish partisans in the building. The Germans quickly surrounded the block and assaulted the building.

I came into this scenario believing that my SS Polizei would walk through the ZZW Fighters. Turn 1, I entered the Q10 victory location building without too much difficulty. Then it got bad. The ZZW fighters can maintain concealment and get great modifiers to get ambush in close combat. In the stairwell locations my Germans were assaulted from the cellar and the top floors by ZZW fighters who took down many of my squads in hand to hand fighting. Despite so heavy initial losses, I managed to clear the building and won the game with a snakes on the final close combat die roll. But I had lost 9 squads KIA'd to take down 6 x Partisan squads. This scenario definitely surprised me and is much tougher than I had imagined.
