Overview:
from Desperation Morale site: "Soviet force of 20.5 squads (a mix of elite, conscript and first line, separated into three groups) and 7 AFVs (including two Lees and a KV-1), aided by a bit of Rocket OBA, must attack a German defending force of 11.5 squads, 3 tanks and a halftrack, OBA, and a bunch of fortifications. The scenario also includes a very rare (for Schwerpunkt) flavor SSR: at the end of each Rally Phase, the Soviet player must choose one location with broken Soviet units and attempt to rally those units as if there were an 8+1 Commissar in that location. This occurs even if those units already attempted to rally in that Rally Phase but failed. Failure results in the normal Commissar punishment for failure. There is a lot of action here in a small space."Attacker: Russian (Penal Company, 251st Rifle Division, 93rd Tank Brigade, 42nd Guard Division, 80th Tank Brigade)
Defender: German (5th Panzer Division, 102nd Infantry Division)

2020-10-24 | (D) Rich Weiley | vs | Dave Wallace | German win | The OBA was probably the difference in our game. I drew three consecutive black cards that gave me access for the whole game. Initially used it to hammer the human wave which came down the extreme left flank, then progressively shifted it across to the right where it wore down the Soviet infantry in the midgame and was crucial in the last turn, shocking a Lee and immobilising a T34. My opponent had some bad luck in his last movement phase, missing several non platoon movement checks for his remaining armour. Then after getting three squads and a leader adjacent to one of the victory buildings, the leader went berserk and took all the squads with him and they were unable to advance in for CC. | ||

2019-09-25 | (A) Jeff B | vs | Magnus Rimvall | German win | 7 hrs | This would be a great scenario if it wasn't for the OBA. With it the Russians don't stand much of a chance, though I did get to practice some human waves (including a one-hex move into an adjacent woods after moving beneath wire). I plan to never play a scenario with Defender OBA again. |
