Overview:

In an attempt to retake the high ground on Corregidor, the Japanese launched several uncoordinated attacks out of Crockett Ravine and from south of the Golf Course. Their objectives were at the American positions in the rubbled Base Administration and Officer's Quarters buildings bordering the eastern and southern edges of the Parade Grounds. The Japanese were out of contact with their comrades elsewhere on the island and totally surrounded by American paratroopers. With few options available, they threw themselves into the fray with one firm resolve; succeed in recapturing the high ground, or if not possible, kill as many Americans as they could.
