Overview:
On the 27th of April, the RSI tank detachment surrendered to Divisione d'Assalto Garibaldi. The brigade commander with more men and light tanks added, decided to attack the small village of Cividale, which was held by elements of the 24th Waffen SS Gebirgs Division, which was made up mainly of Italian volunteers. The attack commenced in earnest with the hope that an insurrection would occur among the partisan bands hidden among the town's people. The local partisans did enthusiastically join the fight. During the furious fighting in the streets of Cividale, heavy armor from the 24th Panzer Kompanie arrived.Attacker: Italian (Elements of the Divisione d'Assalto Girabaldi)
Defender: German (SS) (Elements of the 24.SS-Waffen-Gebirgs (Karstjäger) Brigade and 24.SS-Panzer Kompanie)

2022-10-27 | (D) Jeff B | vs | Magnus Rimvall | German (SS) win | 9.5 hrs | Germans have to balance trying to hold off the initial Italian surge with how much they want to risk on the front line. The Italians have a lot of vehicles, and none of them are limited by being radioless. Germans lost 1.5 squads of straggling brokies on Turn 2, but thankfully their much-needed armor support was able to enter and safely position themselves to await the continued onslaught. The Italians don't have much to stop them, but they do have numbers, and when the next turn one of the Panzer MAs broke I was a bit nervous, but the German front line continued to hold (albeit tenuously). The Italian partisans added little to the equation. Turn 4 saw the first lost vehicle when a L6/40 was fried with a faust, and the Italian reinforcements in the north had little room to maneuver. The Italians had yet to take a building, though they were a turn away from grabbing two. Turn 5 saw the Germans get the worst for wear in lost bodies, but their tank with the broken MA took a chance and repaired itself, while another survived being shocked by the mortar. Either of these going the other way could've been disastrous for the defense. Turn 6 saw an AC get fried, providing some welcome smoke for the defenders, 1.5 squads of Italian berserkers(!) get mowed down, and an L6/40 break its gun. Going into the last turn the Italians still had only taken the two buildings, and a literal wall of bodies would prevent them from taking any more. Not a bad scenario, but nothing too special either. | |

2021-05-15 | (D) Richard Jenulis | vs | Greg Rodgers | German (SS) win | A very fun scenario. First time I saw an immobile tank burn in a blaze. The blazes truncated the play areaThe Italians were in two buildings and at 20 points when it ended. |
