2020-07-18 | (D) Paul Works | vs | James Treu | Partisan win | SS must move fast in this scenario, force the Partisans to reveal themselves, then move up with larger-FP stacks to break the defenders. Partisans have room to fall back through the buildings to multiple defensive locations. Infiltrating units can really cause issues for the SS if the Russian sniper is placed (or lands) in an opportune location(s). In this game, James' initial attack resulted in 1.5 SS squads KIA (primarily due to two "12" MCs by him). He moved his Panthers to cover the edges of his infantry and VBM-locked two of my units, resulting in both of those partisans being KIA. My hero used a PSK to flame one of the Panthers (that dude must have been practicing); although the back blast wounded him in the process. All three of my infiltrating Partisans came on into hexes occupied by SS units. In the ensuing melees, the SS lost 1.5 squads and a leader - and it forced the SS to move back to previously-cleared areas to take out the infiltrators. Te SS reinforcements came on along the west side and ran into my other leader and the captured German MMG. The SS reinforcements entered with an FT (a good idea, in my opinion); but during his fourth turn's move - as it was getting a bit desperate for the SS - he attempted to get the manning 6-5-8 across the street and into the Partisan backfield. Not a bad idea; however, my 5-2-7, German MMG, and 8-1 leader took a 7-1 shot at him and rolled a "2;" KIAing the squad. At this point we called it. Not enough Germans remained to carry on to the victory. | ||

2019-03-01 | (A) Michael Rodgers | vs | Kenneth Knudsen | Partisan win | My Germans failed every deployment attempt I tried. This made things harder for the German in an already difficult scenario for them. |
