On the night of 31 August, the North Koreans launched a multi-division attack aimed at Taegu. The bulk of the KPA 9th Infantry Division attacked the line of the 9th Infantry Regiment that roughly followed the Naktong River, with an immediate objective of Yongsan, eight miles to the east. At the Kihang ferry crossing near Agok, A Company, supported by tow tanks and two AAA halftracks, prepared to receive the assault.
Attacker: North Korean (1st Battalion and 1st Company with Regimental Weapons, 9th Division)
Defender: American (A Company, 9th Infantry Regiment, 72nd Tank Battalion and 82nd Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division)
I was able to destroy both M16s early with the AA Guns; this allowed the NKPA to swarm up to the hill and overwhelm the defending Americans.

Bruno and I played 209 A LINE TOO THINLY HELD. I had the American defenders. I tried to hunker my main force in a reverse slope defence. This takes the NK OBA and AA weapons out of the battle, but doesn't allow the Americans to fail too many MC. The left flank force tried to join the main force, but only the 4 AFV made it there. The NVR of 6 means the NK MG can take shots at the meat-choppers from a distance while cannon fodder keeps the bullets away from the NK MG. For the first time in a night scenario I had a squad become a casualty when it strayed into enemy lines. My defence held for awhile. The first wave of NK suffered, but the second wave fared better. On NK4, one of the meat-choppers broke its MA. I lost a Pershing to CC, but an American squad in CC won its CC. The aforementioned halftrack was immobilized and then became a burning wreck in CC of NK5. One squad is in Melee that will continue to the end. On NK6, an MG shot burns the second meat-chopper. During A6, the NK MG break a squad and a half that I had just rallied and were supposed to come back to the hill. During the CC of A6, the last American squad on the hill dies in CC to give the NK their immediate win.
I hope to hear of someone trying a hilltop defence in this scenario to see if it fares better.

Korean win on turn 7 in this very funny not quite a normal night scenario -- no scenario attacker or defender leads to a all out battle with low visibility. Worth a play.

American win
I played the US and established a hedgehog on the far side of the hill, away from the off board observer. Early in the game an M16 halftrack obliterated a platoon of North Koreans after the enemy failed to damage the vehicle. The North Koreans made good progress on my right, forcing my troops into a tight perimeter on the first level of the hill. At one point all but two of my squads were broken and it looked like the end was near for the US. What followed was a string of good dice that turned the tables. A self rally, followed by a leader rally then another squad put the US forces into an improved position. Then, a phenomenal prep fire phase saw the majority of attacking North Koreans either break or outright die. This unusually good “dice tear” was too much for Al and he conceded. I didn’t play all that well and Al didn’t play poorly, I simply diced him when it counted.
