With the Germans' southern flank still in disarray as a result of the First Special Service Force brazen attacks, Brigadier-General Frederick thought the situation primed for a similar assault against the 7th Luftwaffe Battalion on the northern flank. For this attack Frederick called upon No. 3 Company of the 2nd Regiment. Shortly after 0300 hours, Captain Wilson and No. 3 Company crossed the Mussolini Canal, to be joined soon after by a platoon of medium tanks from the 1st Armored regiment. The immediate objective was to clear a section of fortified farmhouses, lying halfway between Sessuno and Borgo Plave.
I went directly for the board 43 farm complex using the shortest rout. Two tanks managed to effectively use their sM to aid in the approach, despite the artillery being off target. The US troops waded through mine fields and routed the second line Germans from the farm. By turn 4 the Germans were down to only 2 good order squads so they surrendered.
