Overview:
After the successful delaying action in the battle of Strecno Gorge, the Slovak national uprising was gaining momentum. Garrison units and reserves with many Eastern Front veterans were mobilized and sent to the front, along with stockpiled munitions which included tanks and aircraft. With spare parts in the workshops, Col. Jan Juna’s 1st Defense Region counterattacked to keep the Germans off-balance and hold on to the strategic Hron Valley as long as possible.Attacker: Slovak (1st Defense Region)
Defender: German (187th Panzer Grenadier Regiment)

2014-01-20 | (A) Jeff T | vs | Uriah Jones | German win | 2nd game of the 2014 BCHW mini-tournament. I played Uriah and he had a solid setup. It was a total disaster as it was the late Friday game and I was fading fast after traveling all morning. I bumbled a full stack in front of a 4 down 2 shot trying to push up the hill (didn't see his LOS until too late) and Uriah broke them all. That prevented me from gaining a foothold on the hill and it went south from there. Not sure how the Slovaks can apply pressure with their vehicles moving after all the infantry. I never got close to the buildings and we called it after 3 turns. Uriah played perfectly and really put the hammer to my Slovaks. My first Schwerpunkt playing and I was overwhelmed as the attacker. | ||
