Overview:
Elements of SS Panzer Regiment 3 were ordered to move north to Lutschki, conduct a reconnaissance, and linkup with the Das Reich. But at 1700, aerial reconnaissance spotted and warned of an enemy armored force totaling 30 tanks moving across the Donets River near Ssoschonkoff. The Totenkopf panzers stopped and set up a blocking position east of the river, now taking up the mission of stopping the developing counterattack. The Russian regiment, equipped with British Churchills, soon ran into the blocking position.Attacker: Russian (48th Guards Tank Regiment)
