Overview:
The left wing of the French 14th Infantry Division was held by the 2nd Infantry Division. On June 9, this division was forced to withdraw from its position. The Germans thus seized a bridgehead across a river and the panzers began to cross. The 14th’s general vigorously blamed his counterpart and ordered that he organize an immediate counterattack. Instead, that general ordered a 3 kilometer retreat, exposing the flank of the 14th, forcing it to withdraw. The 4th Regiment,7ème DLM was assigned to reconnoiter and slow the German advance wherever possible.Attacker: French (1er Escadron (Capitaine Gobert) of 4ème Régiment d'Auto-Mitrailleuses of 7ème DLM)
