2018-11-10 | (A) Louis Langdeau | vs | Andrew S | Russian win | This was a big step up in complexity for Andy and I. Both of us were a little overwhelmed with the rules overhead, but with the help of another local player assisting on rules, we managed to get through it. I set up with the intent of pushing hard into the middle of Andy's line, and cut rout paths on his troops on the flanks. The push in the middle was thrown back hard on turns 2-4, and I ended up making the best of what I had on the flanks. I got far further in than I would have thought with that plan, and by turn 5 I had taken a good portion of the buildings I would need to win. At that point, Andy's reinforcements began to show up, and by turn 7 I had lost my left flank and Russians were reclaiming buildings too quickly for me make up the difference on my right. Great fun, and a great way to spend Remembrance Day weekend. | ||
