Overview:
After a week of war, the German invasion of Poland ran according to plans. German troops of the 8. Armee were marching eastward on Warsaw, and on the other side of the Bzura river were Polish troops withdrawing in the same direction. Stretched along the Bzura, protecting the army's flank, was the 30. Infanterie-Division. On the morning of 9 September, the Polish Knoll-Kownacki Operational Group launched a large-scale assault across the Bzura. For the first (and would it prove later, only) time during the 1939 conflict the Poles mounted an offensive.Attacker: Polish (57th Infantry Regiment, 14th Infantry Division)

2024-10-05 | (D) Jobbo Fett | vs | JobboFett | German win | The Polish side had a disastrous start with none of their initial shots seeing any success. I opted for a spread out attack, and perhaps that was the issue, where I should've focused on one entire flank. As it stood, the first turn only saw the Poles taking losses from assault moves and poor MC rolling. The Germans took the lead early and never let go, as any attempts to dislodge them from their starting woods met with failure, and the rallies were never able to bring enough men back into the fight. Some tenacious attacking from the Polish side did, eventually, claim 3 squads, but it was still 3 short of the victory condition. An interesting scenario, though the setup makes it tough to appreciate the breadth of the map available.
2023-03-07 | (D) Craig Renier | vs | Peter Palmer | Polish win | The Germans had brief success as the Poles began their attack. But initial hope was quickly dashed as the Poles made steady progress across the battle field. The Germans were able to withdraw in good order on Turn 1, but could not get a result with defensive attacks as the Poles pressed on. The Poles began to surround broken German units sweeping up prisoners as they advanced. A poor tactical move by the Germans cost them another full squad with a leader that should have been able to rout away, had the Germans been a little more thoughtful a turn prior. The loss of one squad was enough to give the Poles a large opening to press the attack. The few remaining German units withdrew to the village, hoping to hold off the final push and forestall any more losses. On Turn 5, German defensive fire could not get any results. With no where else to go, the Germans Prepped. The few Polish units that broke did not reduce the attacking force much and the follow on Defensive Fire resulted in another 1 1/2 squad loss for the Germans, sealing a Polish win.
2023-03-03 | (A) Mark Thompson | vs | German (Andrew Luden) | Polish win | The Poles turned the German left flank in Turn 1 by sacrificing a few HSs to contain DFF and moving through a gap blasted open by the 9-1/Hero kill stack during PFPh. The Germans hit back and broke a few Polish squads in the center, but ultimately could not stop the flankers from cutting off route paths in the central woods and capturing several German squads. The Poles then hemmed in the German right flank in the Eastern woods, which allowed the original flanking force to occupy several buildings in the village, which sealed VCs in combination with German MMCs eliminated by capture and CC. The DR helped the Poles a key moments, who also had the ability to be extremely aggressive without a CVP cap.
