Overview:
The Grebbe Line was the principal defensive position into Fortress Holland from the east. Following a preparatory bombardment, the outpost line was attacked at sunrise on 11 May and the defenders slowly fell back to the trenches on the hill. The front line proper was penetrated by the Germans on the afternoon of 12 May, setting the stage for the final assault the next day. . .Attacker: German (Bataillon 1, Infanterie-Regiment 322, Infanterie-Division 207)
Defender: Dutch (1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment)

2025-03-20 | (D) Jim Liang | vs | David Wiesenhahn | German win (VASL Log) | Danes did not get much from their HMG. Germans used fire and maneuver effectively and sacrificed their ACs to sleaze freeze the Danes. Danes setup poorly in bottom woods and lost several precious squads to surrender. Once the bottom woods were lost, the Danes had nowhere to go and nowhere to hide.
2025-03-01 | (A) Fred Jordan | vs | Walter Fox | Dutch win | A very enjoyable game. Walter played a skillful fighting withdrawal that delayed the Germans for two turns before they could see their targets. The armored cars did their job by distracting the defenders and dodging a few To Kill attempts. At the beginning of the last turn, the Germans only controlled two building locations with a third one likely to fall during the CC and the fourth, and final, one one dash away from a Germany second line squad. But nothing is ever that straightforward in ASL! The dashing squad became berserk in the middle of the road and charged the nearest enemy (who, of course, was not in the victory location. The CC also went south with three German squad that had ambushed a Dutch conscript could not destroy it! In the end, a lucky but nonetheless deserved Dutch victory!
2023-07-21 | (D) Peter Palmer | vs | Steve Boro | Dutch win | [Imported from ROAR]
2023-05-19 | (A) Jack Wilson | vs | Mark Thompson | Dutch win | Mark Played a flawless defense. Although the ACs the Germans get are cool, they can only enter the battle space through a narrow opening, unless you want to risk a bunch of bog checks. That HMG directed by the 9-2 leader hunkered down in the stone building with a couple of MMCs was impervious to all fire. If I were to play this one again, I would avoid going up that mini-kill stack.
2022-11-16 | (A) Simon Staniforth | vs | Gary Norman | German win | Probed with the infantry and kept the ACs back until the Dutch revealed their MGs as didn’t want to risk them too early. Once fire was drawn they moved in and I got lucky with a 4FP BFF shot breaking the 9-2/HMG combo and was thereafter able to mop up the rest of the defence |
