Starter kit scenario?: Deluxe scenario?:
Balance:
Kuomintang (KMT)Red Army
Overview:
After passing through Lazikou Pass, the Red Army's move north would not be seriously challenged. It would, however, be harassed. Central Asian Muslim cavalry, the Ma, would snap at their heels and attack any stragglers. At Wuqi, near the end of the march, Mao had had enough and decided to "cut off the tail". Mao would position his troops in a half moon formation in the Luohe River valley and lure the cavalry into a trap.Attacker: Kuomintang (KMT) (Elements of KMT)

2024-06-24 | (D) Bob McKenna | vs | Ronald Duenskie | Kuomintang (KMT) win | KMT cavalry make a rapid 3 prong attack. Red Army slows advance and pass MC. Red Army holds left but gets bypassed. Red Centre begins to fold due to overwhelming and meticulous advance. KMT wins by taking building and routing remaining Red Army. Slugfest at the end as Red Army do not go quietly. Too many horsemen.

2022-05-25 | (A) Jobbo Fett | vs | Hypnobeard | Kuomintang (KMT) win | A scenario that either forces the defender to be far too spread out, or one that allows the KMT player to sneak through the defensive line and win quickly. I don't know how I would balance this aside from making the building control necessary with the VP requirement, maybe making the BLDG control a secret option between two locations. Defender's dice were poor at the worst of times, and breaks were more frequent for the CCP than the KMT. It is strange to suddenly get 5-3-7s everywhere, and it can be a shock to the Reds if you've been playing this scenario pack from start to (almost) finish.
