Overview:
Through out the day, the drive of the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, while it had been slowed by stubborn resistance, had packed too much power for the Germans, who fought to hold Hill 192 and their lines near St-Georges-d'Elle. The Germans, in a last desperate attempt to halt the US advance, were forced to commit Fallschirm Sturmgeschütz-Brigade 12, Fallschirm Aufklärungs-Kompanie 3, and their last reserves, Fallschirm Pionerie-Abteilung 3, in a last ditch counterattack north along the heavily-treed road towards St-Georges-d'Elle in the hopes of catching the Americans off-guard...Attacker: German (3/Fs.Aufkl-Abt and Fs-Pi.Abt. 3, supported by Fs.StuG.Bde. 12)

The Germans simply have too many obstacles to overcome (American OBA, Bocage, HIP unit, long road to clear, contricted attack lane, etc.). As I understand it, George Kelln is working on an update to Purple Heart Draw. I've not played the full Tactical Mission game, but I think all four of the warmup scenarios need to be reworked for balance. | ||

There are 2 results here on the Archive showing German wins but they are the same game reported by both players. German armor is channeled up the road and Allied OBA is absolutely devastating. Another big problem with the design is that it requires the Germans to control a long stretch of road but the Yanks are given a HIP MMC would can easily hide and then reveal at the end of the game to negate German road control. | ||
