Overview:
The objective of the British 8th Army was the capture of Vizzini which the Germans had fortified. A request for assistance was sent to the U.S. 157th RCT. Upon hearing of the request, regimental commander Col. Ankcorn tore a waybill from the side of an Italian box car. He wrote a short but direct order, “Murphy go help the British”. Lt. Col. Murphy of the 1st Battalion moved his men out. The first goal was the capture of the high ground west of Vizzini.Attacker: American (Elements of the1st Battalion, 157th RCT, 45th Infantry Division)
Defender: German (Elements of Aufklarungs Abteilung, Panzer Division Hermann Göring)

2018-04-09 | (D) Jeff B | vs | Elmo Menon | German win | Not sure what to think of this one. The VCs seem like they could be a bit rough for the Americans. The key to the defense is maintaining control of the north central hill, but if the Americans concentrate a lot of their muscle on it I think it can be taken in time to grab some of the other VC hexes. Rout paths are always a problem when it comes to hill scenarios so both sides must always keep those in mind. Games with light armor can also be a bit dicey. But this was enjoyable to play and I'd try it again. | ||
