On the center, the British fell atop a very efficient German mortar who stopped the assault dead. A 88L AT gun positioned as a second layer helped in the process. On the East side, the British succeeded in controlling several buildings helped by the remaining Shermans and the smoke cover. The German resistance was tough however and the British only controlled 11 out of the 12 buildings needed. | |||
