Overview:

The British 1st Infantry Division was attacking toward Massicault when the Hermann Göring Panzer Division stopped it a Djebel Bou Aoukaz. A kampfgruppe launched a series of counterattacks to gain the high ground to stop further British moves toward Tunis. Number 1 Company occupied the position at Point 212. Armed with mortars and Bren guns, the resolute Guardsmen had endured two days of attacks by enemy infantry, yet still held their trench line despite the threat of encirclement. At 0900 on Friday morning, an outpost of the Reconnaissance Regiment reported that a company of Germans was forming up for an assault just below Point 212. Peering over the edge of the hill, Lance-Corporal John Kenneally saw the Germans as they prepared to attack up the hill. Seeing the opportunity, he leapt from his position and charged straight into the Germans, firing his Bren gun from the hip. . .
