Overview:

The headlong advance south towards France’s second largest city, Lyon, by Infantry Regiment Großdeutschland continued with an assault gun from Lt. Von Werlhoff’s platoon leading the way. The first serious French resistance was met near Neuville-sur-Seine. There was a barricade in front of the village, which had a heavy machine gun, two light machine guns and a 47mm anti-tank gun. The assault spearheaded by the 6th Company, Infantry Regiment GD approached the barricade. Machine gun and rifle fire suddenly erupted from every house and near-by park. The assault gun immediately went into position and blasted the barricade.
Attacker: German (Kompanie 6, Infantry Regiment Großdeutschland with StuG.Abt. 640)

2026-04-04(A) Don Berg vs Solo German winI based both attack and defense from an article in "View from the Trenches." The French defended up front across the board. The Stug broke the HMG stack in the Chateau from L9. It moved around the back garden on turn 3 and was attacked by the AT gun in J1, but the gun was sighting the road, and the Stug was sighting the chateau. They both spun around and exchanged misses. The ATG destroyed the Stug the next turn. Buy then the entire front had collapsed, but several squads were able to rout/sprint back towards the town. The final French squad finally fell on turn 7 to overwhelming German fire groups.
2023-01-29(D) Dan Best vs Dave Mareske German win
2023-01-29(A) Dave Mareske vs Dan Best German winI think this is a tough on on the French even though my AFV malfed its MA on its first shot, a SMOKE attempt. The German Elite INF made steady work of the French taking prisoners, clearing the road Turn 7 and preventing a small counter-attack on the French turn. If you take the French, definitely ask for the balance, though you might need more help than that.
2021-11-19(A) Jason Nichols vs Bruno Javanabal German winA steady push by the Germans forced the French back and took a number of prisoners. The STUG was good support and provided smoke when needed to neutralise the French HMG. Came down to last turn and needed to eliminate remaining French squad and half squad. H/S eliminated in CC and the squad held in melee for the win.
2020-11-28(A) Paul Works vs Tom Repetti German win
