Overview:
As part of the Allied first wave, the British 6th Airborne Division was tasked with protecting the right flank of "Overlord", east of the Orne River. One of the most dangerous units sent against the British was Kampfgruppe Luck, part of the 21st Panzerdivision. With many armored vehicles, the kampfgruppe soon began to launch counterattacks against the lightly equipped paras. Such was the case on June 9th as C Company, 2nd Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry left the village of Herouvillette to probe Escoville, south of the British perimeter.Attacker: German (Reinforced elements of Panzergrenadier Regiment 125, Kampfgruppe Luck)
