Overview:

In the early years of the war, the German army utilized bicycle and motorcycle troops in the reconnaissance role. In the early morning of September 1, the reconnaissance elements of the 35th Panzer Regiment advanced on the left flank of the regiment. At 0830 the troopers advanced on the hamlet of Krolewsh and ran into fire from dismounted Polish cavalry, known as Lancers. . . . German motorcycle infantry must seek out HIP Polish units before their reinforcements can come on. The Poles gain victory points by staying hidden but they also have to prevent the Germans from leaving the board.

2024-02-12(A) Jobbo Fett vs Tanorian German winThe Poles were quick to eliminate a motorcycle-riding squad as it bumped into an enemy unit in some grain fields, while one of my leaders and a squad were eliminated on double 12s and a follow-up shot that killed the remaining half-squad. Things turned my way as my IFT rolls were hot and stayed hot for the match, every break doing that much more to harm the defense. Tanorian had some good HIP spots that caught me by surprise several times, but the luck was never on his side as CC's tended to go my way. An interesting scenario that benefits from the Polish player being hard to find for several turns to rack up the bonus points before revealing themselves for some potentially devastating attacks. I'd probably err on giving the Poles the balance.

2023-04-19(D) Michael Rodgers vs Bruno L'Archeveque German winI tried a rear defence optimized to gain the bonus points on both ends of player turn one. Got them, but the end game came down to broken Polish being caught for double value prisoners. Poles had 10 CVP plus 4 bonus points. Germans had 5 CVP until last two turns; then it went to 7, then 19.
