Overview:

The Italian Army erupted across the Greek border in an attempt to add Greece to the New Roman Empire and show Hitler that Italy, too, could launch a blitzkrieg attack. Mussolini’s tactically-bankrupt command had not anticipated the tenacity of the Greek resistance. They captured the Greek town of Koritsa – only six miles into Greek territory. The Greek general Papagos realized the importance of Koritsa. A successful thrust from there might break through to Thessallonika and cut off all of western Thrace. . .

2020-12-22(A) Jeff B vs Joe Arthur Greek winGreek armor and infantry support cleared the token defense on Hill 538 during the opening Turn, while the rest rode with a vengeance toward the majority of the Italians gathered around the VC area. By the end of Turn 2 all but one Italian squad was cleared from the other hills, some buildings started to be grabbed, and a decent-sized Greek cavalry force was sent on a northern flanking mission. Italians had some very bad luck with their SWs, losing their HMG for good on Turn 3, but their prevalent dummies soaked up a lot of Greek sniper shots. While the attack on the walled compound went fairly well, the northern infiltrators ran into some heavy resistance in the form of the Italian gun, a mortar, and a MMG. I really regretted sending these men on this path when the Italian reinforcements came on heavily amidst them but, by this time, my guns had situated themselves to sight down the "S" column and make it problematic for these Italians to safely return to the VC area. My heavy SW kill stack had also gotten situated in 17P2, granting them a wide field of fire. He was able to recall one of my tanks with a MG (another had broken it's MA many Turns ago) and kill a crew unloading a gun, but once I took control of the walled compound he started breaking left and right. When my sole surviving squad in the north rolled infiltration in CC he decided to throw in the towel. I think this one is quite tough for the Greeks so I feel lucky to have won.

2020-05-02(A) Shane Pask vs Italian winDebacle. Conceded on turn 8. Made it into the compound on board 43 but Italians still had 9 stacks lining the road and i did not have enough to dislodge them. My sniper seemed to break more squads than my cavalry.
2017-11-12(A) Vic Lauterbach vs JM Italian winThis one is a throwback to the big scenarios of early ASL, but it plays fast. It was a close, but the defense held up. I cleared the N9 building cluster by GT9 but couldn't break the squads in woods P2 and building P1 on the last turn. I should have galloped some Greek squads on to board 43 to press the attack earlier.
