The Price of Impatience | Jim Vasiliou | Partisan | 2022-03-23 | Won | The Germans unloaded as soon as the entire convoy was onboard. The infantry carefully advanced along the East edge while the convoy idled in the road. A forward partisan unit was forced to reveal and attack permitting the German halftracks earlier than the Partisans wanted. The Germans made steady progress only loosing one MMC, a leader, and the car. The battle shifted in favor of the Partisans when the Allied sniper forced the HT with 37L to recall. Running out of time, the German pushed the convoy down the road facing fire and residual. Two trucks were wrecked, one of them burning. The outcome was still in the air until a Partisan MMC and leader entered CC against a BU HT wrecking it leaving no path to victory for the Germans. | 8 |
The Niscemi-Biscari Highway | Peter Palmer | American | 2022-01-31 | Won | The German's attacked from the north through the woods. They made very good progress through Turn 3 while the Americans Pinned and Broke. The Americans were on their heals at the end of German Turn 3 with only 3 1/2 Good Order MMCs, one of which was surrounded, and 3 SMCs, but the tide quickly turned. Units were able to withdraw and rally. At the end of Turn 4 the Americans had reconstituted most of their original force. In addition, an American prisoner MMC successfully escaped, won CC creating a 8-0 SMC, and recovered a Baz. At the same time the German forces regularly broke, pinned, or suffered KIA. At the end of Turn 7 the outcome was decided with an American victory. | 8 |
This one seems to hinge entirely on how successful the Canadians are with smoke on the early turns.
