Overview:
Throughout the grueling month of October, determined and costly German assaults had steadily shrunk the Soviet defensive perimeter. By October 24, Panzer Division 14 had reached “Bread Factory #2” just to the south of the Barikady and commenced its assault the next day, only to be rebuffed by the fierce defensive fire of the 138th Rifle Division. The remnants of Motorcycle Battalion 64 were crouched in the ruins opposite the Bread Factory, slain and wounded leaders scattered about them. There seemed to be no way across the deadly street, but Sgt. Esser could no longer stand the tension. Screaming “Forward!” he led his twelve men out into the road and into the adjacent building.Attacker: German (Kradschützenbataillon 64/Panzergrenadier Regiment 103/Panzer Division 14)

2024-02-24 | (D) Klara Kundzicz | vs | Graham | Russian win (VASL Log) | I got really lucky, eliminated the 9-1 in the first turn with a wound, my commisar rallied a squad, broke most of the advancing units. There was no hope and graham surrendered to me
2024-02-03 | (A) Enrico Croce | vs | Enrico Croce | Russian win
2023-12-01 | (D) Justin DiSabatino | vs | Self | Russian win | The Russian set up the 45L in R1 and the Commissar/2x 4-5-8/MMG in R3, which proved to be a potent combination in restricting German approaches to the VC buildings. The 45L restricted the German attack from the N1 building and was always too far away when the main German force to the focus of an attack, letting it protect the VC buildings and Q4 crossroads with impunity. The Germans still made a strong offensive showing, but could not get across the road into the buildings. Each VC building had a Russian 4-4-7 that never broke and broke all squads attempting to get close enough to advance into CC. by the bottom of turn 5, the Germans no longer had enough forces to take the buildings and the game was conceded.
2023-03-20 | (A) Andreas Brueckner | vs | Pablo Garcia | German win | Great game, my first face to face game and also my first game with guns.
2022-05-10 | (A) Eric Partizan Eric | vs | German win
2022-03-26 | (A) Jack Wilson | vs | Jim Liang | German win | Excellent design. The Germans have to capture two single hex buildings to win. Jim decided to not occupy the buildings at set up. Instead, he laid multiple kill zones around the approaches, which essentially put the buildings in a no-man's zone of death. Most of the battle involved me trying to suppress those FGs with LOS to the route I would need to get safely into the buildings. No easy task I can tell you! His 45L with 3ROF was making rate so often we were surprised the barrel didn't melt. The SSR Comisar rule pretty much turns any units he is stacked with into supermen (especially the squads that are already elite to start with) their morale is raised by 1, and they ignore DM DRM on rally! Despite the fact that this is supposed to be a city fight in Stalingrad, there are plenty of sneaky thread-the-needle LOS shots between buildings which makes skulking less effective and movement in OG very dangerous. (I learned the hard way with a leader and two MMC lugging two MMG that got reduced to a quivering mass from a single MMC firing from two city blocks away). The game was very tight and came down to the last turn. Lucky for me, Jim's dice went ice cold right when I needed it most. Definitely recommended.

2021-10-29 | (A) Doba Serge | vs | Jean G | German win
2021-09-05 | (A) Pascal Boileau | vs | Arnaud | German win | A really good scenario. The Russians fought valiantly but they were decimated by the HMG and the German 9-2 leader. The reinforcements were badly delayed by accurate German fire. In the end, the Russians led by the commissar charged across the street to take back one building hex. The issue of the game was decided in the CCPh of the last turn.
2021-07-13 | (D) Craig Renier | vs | Erik Krommenhoek | German win | An aggressive German setup kept the Russians from being able to skulk at all. The Russian Commissar was able to maintain a strong fighting force to include the MMG and AT gun in the Bread Factory. But ineffective defensive fire followed by strong morale checks allowed the German forces to gradually surrounded the Factory weakening the peripheral defenses. When the MMG and AT gun malfunctioned in Turns 4 and 5, there was little the Russians could do to stop the nearly intact German force. With the Bread Factory firmly in German control in Turn 5 and few Russian forces available to counterattack, the Russians conceded.

2021-01-27 | (A) Igor Stolyarenko | vs | Konstantin Klyuch | German win (VASL Log) | I launched a slow attack with all my might and tried not to lose anyone. Destroying the cannon immediately after its discovery helped me. Everything was very cinematic.
2020-12-28 | (D) Craig Renier | vs | Tony Fermendzin | German win | On Turn 1 the Russians got two lucky shots against two German stacks, breaking a sizable portion of the German force. However, that was the limit of the success for the Russian defense. Despite laying down Defensive Fire, the German advance was relentless. When the Russian Commissar broke with its accompanying MMC, the door was cracked open for a full German assault against the Victory buildings. The Russians held up in CC and counterattacked reinforcing the Melee, but the Russian losses were too great while the German force was nearly intact. With no Good Order units remaining, the Russian conceded in Turn 5.
2020-12-27 | (A) Tony Fermendzin | vs | Craig Renier | German win | Fun scenario. The Germans have a lot of FP in this one, however, if the Russians can hold up in the victory buildings (the Commissar helps here), this one looks like a tough nut for the Germans to crack. The Germans got off to a slow start as they got caught bunching up a bit too much and their two kill stacks both broke on the opening turn. However, the game turned when the Russian MMG malfunctioned and a fortuitous German shot broke both the Commissar and a squad in the victory buildings in Russian turn 3. The Germans then went for broke throwing everything they had at the bread factory and were able to take one of the victory buildings and force their way into CC in the other on German turn 4. The Russians immediately counterattacked and were able to reinforce the CC with two additional squads. However, the Russian forces were spent at this point and the Germans were able eventually clear the Russians out of the last VP building in their last turn.
2020-11-30 | (D) Craig Renier | vs | Steve Ambruzs | Russian win | The German player could not gain any traction with his attacks throughout the game while the Russian player was able to break multiple attackers. The Germans attempted an assault across the road on the Russian left, but was fully repulsed. A second assault directly at the Victory buildings had a nearly identical result. Mid game, when the Russians were able to break a German Kill Stack, the German player was left with few options. A final assault succeeded in entering one of the victory buildings, but the force was took weak to hold.
2020-08-27 | (A) Pascal Boileau | vs | Laurent Tisseyre | German win | A really fun scenario. The Russian setup was not optimal and the German firepower did the job by breaking almost all the Russian squads before turn 4 (excepted reinforcements). The situation of the Russian troops even with the reinforcements on board was hopeless and Laurent conceded after turn 3. He was not helped by the malfunctioned MMG and the commissar death at turn 2.
2020-06-30 | (A) Macari Samuel | vs | Seb Vitry | German win
2020-03-31 | (A) O Ramaille | vs | Macari Samuel | German win | The Germans attacked harshly with heavy firepower. The Russian defenders were unable to hold the victory buildings. But as the Germans closed in, the Russian fire got more effective breaking several squads. The Russian support weapons and AT gun began to malfunction. And the Germans rallied enough troops to occupy the buildings and place supportive fire. Lacking troops for the assault, the Russian conceded.
2020-03-31 | (D) Macari Samuel | vs | O Ramaille | German win | My aim was to delay the german assault and block the access to the Victory Buildings. Unfortunatly, both the MMG and the Gun broke. A lack of agressivity from the Russians let the Germans advance and win easily although it was balanced in the mid-game.

2017-09-22 | (A) Jeff B | vs | Shaun Andrews | German win | If a SK scenario could feel like Stalingrad this would certainly be the one. Fighting over a couple locations two hexes away never felt so brutal. Upon setup I thought this one looked quite easy for the Germans. They seemed to have more muscle (with more on the way) and were within an arm's length of their objective. But once the metal started flying things were definitely hairy. Perhaps our game was a bit colored by the hottest 45L I have ever seen in my life. I will have nightmares about this one. It didn't even lose concealment (we played full ASL rules) until Turn 4, and must have averaged a handful of shots every turn with its seemingly continuous ROF. The Germans seemed to break/rout/rally/replace every turn for the first few without much progress being made. They did manage to sneak a HS into the victory buildings on Turn 3 and generate a hero in the process. Meanwhile a battle was being fought for position in the southcentral part of the map. The Russians managed to grab the VC buildings back on their Turn 4, but the Germans were gaining the upper hand in the south. Turn 5 is when the rubber met the road and the Russian dice, which had been so hot throughout, finally failed them. The Germans passed two key MCs, finally broke the MG nest, and consolidated their position in the south, so the Russians conceded with one turn to go. Great and fun game!

2015-07-04 | (A) leo zhu | vs | feixiang 7 | Russian win | I control the situation before Turn6. However, Russian rushed at the last turn and retook the VP building.I misunderstood the VC.
2015-03-22 | (D) O Ramaille | vs | phbrx | German win | The Russian were soon overwhelmed by the organized german offensive. But, then the small Russian At gun revealed and with the help of a very high rate of fire destroyed and disorganized a large part of the german attack. It was however unsufficient to prevent the germans to take the two buildings. Despite, some heroic morale from Russian conscript forces (snake eyes twice in morale check), the reinforcements were unable to capture the buildings back.
2014-10-24 | (D) Vic Lauterbach | vs | EVL | German win | Tutorial worked, the inexperienced player won! Strange without snipers, but fun!

2012-03-01 | (A) O Ramaille | vs | German win | With 4 squads stacked in buildings P2 and P3 and the MMg plus the commissar, the russian thought it was enough to keep the germans at bay. However, the fortune smiled at the germans when a squad assault one of the building unharmed while the main german forces pushed south. Russian reinforcements recaptured building P2 but were pushed back by hard fire. The game ended in a complete german victory with only one russian leader and 2 squads, all broken.
2011-11-20 | (A) Stefan C | vs | osterhuasm | German win | Germans push Russian southern flank, HIP gun facing towards objective buildings. Germans wait until prep fire finishes the russians in the objectives, clear out the south, and then advance. Turn 4 Russians surrender with only reinforcements left in good order.
2011-06-04 | (A) Keith Colins | vs | Quentin Dimick | Russian win | Used this as a teaching scenario to introduce guns. The 45L only got off 1 shot. Great scenario, it came down to the last Russian CC phase and the Russians won by having a HS Survive a 2 to 1 attack.
