This took me far too long to get around to, but password resets and forgotten user ids (providing you remember the email address you registered with) are now working. Hopefully!

Apologies for the delay in getting this completely sorted. I'm now on a fully hosted platform so if you're seeing this message you know you're connecting to the most up-to-date version of the archive. Sorry for the interruption, but carry on enjoying the site now :-)

Sorry about that... I moved houses and knew there'd be a lapse in internet availability, but that was more problematic than I'd imagined. Anyway - slowly getting back to normal - there'll be some additional outages over the next day or so as my line speed is being upgraded - but hopefully that will see us back to normal again.

Sorry if I haven't been able to respond to any requests over the last few weeks, I have a little more time now - but I'm still in the boxes everywhere stage of house moves, so it might be a week or so before things really settle down.

Thanks for your patience!

Merzenhausen ZooGermans HIPed the 9-1 and the HMG, along with the 8-1 and an MMG, rest was put on a forward defence with the big guns up front in woods and cover, most of force was facing the Yanks with the HIP units and a stug facing off the brit crocs thrust through the wooods... Early turns saw the infantry get mown down as they left the woods with the HMG tearing into them from the central stone building, armoured support was slow and possibly a little cautious till the Nashron was dealt with. The nashon him self fired twice, missing the first shot and breaking the gun on the second... grrrrr... before being destroyed by shermans... The germans packed the central walled stone bulidings and the yanks fell in droves trying to get them out, with the stuarts falling to HIP 50l, and 3 shermans going down to the Jgpazr IV, game was fun but effectively over as the allies were down to 4 tanks and 4 MMc in centre, and 3 tanks but only 1 mmc from woods... with the germans yet to bring on the King Tigers! Lovely looking scenario, possibly crying out for a smoke barrage for balance.chubooga
The Last TigerThis is a very balanced scenario, very good for competitive play. It's also fun for both sides, which is not bad either. Try it you won't be disappointed.cosarara

The Cost of Non-ComplianceGermans setup with a very heavy western defense, with only a couple squads in the east. I figured if I was going to get beat it would be by making him take the long way. A very enjoyable feature of this scenario though is simultaneous setup, so Scott had no idea of my setup when he planned his attack, which just so happened to be heavy in the east. My guns up on the hill rained early destruction, taking out two of the lightly armored BT-2As on Turn 1, leaving the third without a platoon (and it would fail movement rolls for at least the next three turns). Turn 2 saw two of the T-25 M32s go down, but the Germans lost their Pz IIF to a sneaky shot. Turn 3 saw the only radio-equipped tanks the Russians had (the KV-1s) move up on the hill to harass the gunners. They succeeded in taking one out. Meanwhile German armor reinforcement entered from the north, just in time to setup shop on the other side of the stream before the Russian advance could jump off. German infantry had gradually repositioned to meet the challenge as well and were mostly in the middle of the board. A berserker ended up sucking up a lot of German firepower, eventually returning to normal in Turn 4 after dispatching a key Pz IIIF who was parked on the bridge. But the Russians lost a KV-1 to the remaining gun, who had found a HEAT round, and two other Russian tanks were immobilized, and another recalled due to a MALFd MA. So things were looking quite grim for the Russians at this point as the Germans held a 4:2 advantage in functioning AFVs. Turn 5 was a great swing for the Russians however as they took out 3/4 of the remaining German armor, but not without losing the last of their light armor to an ATR shot. By this time the German infantry was holed up nicely protecting their buildings, having only lost one. And when the last Russian AFV MALFd its gun it was game over. Very fun scenario which I would gladly play again.buser333

This site is fantastic. Thanks to you I'm discovering I have scenarios in old wargaming magazines that I didn't even know about. Kudos! Mark H.
Great site! I used CoW for years, and this is even better - thanks! Vic L., Vandalia OH, ASL since 91
